This picture was taken early Tuesday morning before our son, Jahiem, left for school.
As I looked at it, God reminded me of a powerful lesson about life.
The cold was real. He didn't want to leave the warmth and comfort of home. If it had been up to him, he would have stayed in bed. But because it was a school day, he had to get up, get ready, and go. The driver was already waiting, and the journey had to begin.
That's exactly how life works.
Many of us wake up to cold seasons—not just the weather, but seasons of disappointment, lack, rejection, uncertainty, and unanswered questions. Some mornings you wake up with no clear starting point. No one to call for a business connection. No guaranteed source of income. Yet your family is looking to you for food, school fees, rent, and every daily need.
The temptation is to give up before you even step outside.
But remember this: God has never promised an easy journey—He has promised His presence.
The Bible says, "His mercies are new every morning." Every sunrise is evidence that God has given you another opportunity to believe, to work, to persevere, and to overcome.
Don't allow today's challenges to rob you of tomorrow's testimony.
Step out in faith. Knock on that door. Make that phone call. Apply for that opportunity. Start that business. Take the first step, even when you cannot see the whole path.
Faith is not the absence of fear; faith is choosing to move forward despite it.
No matter how cold your season may feel, God's favour is greater than your circumstances. The same God who woke you up this morning is able to open doors that no one can shut and provide in ways you never imagined.
So today, don't let fear keep you indoors. Don't let hardship silence your dreams. Your breakthrough may be waiting on the other side of your obedience.
His mercies are new every morning. His grace is sufficient. His promises never fail.
Keep moving. Keep believing. Keep trusting.
God is not finished with you yet.
